The T200 board of directors met this evening and after a lengthy discussion we have decided to postpone the T200 until February 21, 2015.
If you talk to any Kenai Peninsula Musher you already know that we have no snow, the forecast isn’t calling for any measurable snow before the 7th so we are hedging our bets and hoping that Mother Nature will in deed help us.
We will do our best to put a trail together on the 21st. The registered mushers have been notified. They will have the choice of withdrawing with a full refund or moving with us to the 21st. I flew the trail this past Saturday, you can see from the attached pictures it’s not good. No snow at all in Homer and minimal on the rest of the trail, we need a ton.
Mushers contact Race Director Tami Murray with any questions. Tami@Tustumena200.com or 907-394-1318

All our local mushers have headed north or are making plans to do so. It’s a costly venture to train away from home. We have world class dog sledding country and no one can use it. New volunteer schedules and meetings will be posted soon, we hope that our devoted volunteers can move to the 21st!
