2015 T200 Cancelled

2015 T200 Cancelled

The T200 Board of Directors heard a trail report from our trail committee and several local mushers and it was determined that trail conditions are unsafe and the T200 will have to wait another year to celebrate its 30th Anniversary.

While some snow did fall today it wasn’t nearly enough to make a safe route for 45 plus sled dog teams. All possible options for a trail have been explored and we just don’t have the snow to make it happen. With the 7 day forecast calling for mid-30’s and rain, the snow we might get over the next few days will most certainly be gone by the 21st (the postponement day).

The lower sections of the trail have minimal snow with exposed roots and are ice rinks with monster ruts. We considered smaller teams but with no snow you can’t set a hook, you can’t even mark the trail.

The T200 and the mushing community are saddened by this decision but we will always put the dog teams first.

We’d like to thank all of our mushers, sponsors and volunteers for their patience, we did all we could but Mother Nature had other plans. We look forward to 2016!
